NRECA Youth Tour to Washington, DC
June 17 – 24, 2020
Blachly-Lane Electric Co-op is offering the trip of a lifetime to one deserving high school junior. If you currently are a high school junior and your parents/guardians are Blachly-Lane Electric Co-op members, you could be selected to represent Blachly-Lane at the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Youth Tour in Washington, DC, June 17 - 24, 2020.
Youth Tour Details
This opportunity is specifically for junior class students. As Blachly-Lane’s Youth Tour representative in Washington, DC, you will participate in National Youth Day, visit with your representative and senators, and explore monuments and sights around the nation’s capital. You will meet other rural electric co-op student representatives from across the nation, and learn about electric cooperatives, American history, and U. S. government. In the end, you’ll come home with a greater understanding of your great nation, your role as a citizen, and with many new friends.
Students travel with two chaperones and fellow students from their state, and will interact with many other students from around the U. S. who are representing their electric co-ops.

Due to potential conflicts of interest, employees and their family members, Board members and their family members are not eligible to apply to be Blachly-Lane Electric Co-op Youth Tour representatives.
